These are the Most Beautiful Cricket Stadiums in Pakistan [Pictures]

The stunning beauty of Gwadar Cricket Stadium has left the cricketing fraternity in awe, with many fans asking for the venue to be transformed into a fully-functional international cricket stadium.

Due to the monumental efforts of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), international cricket has finally returned to the country. Pakistan will be looking to host matches at several different venues over the next few years.

Since international cricket returned to the country, only Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi have had the privilege to host international matches, while Multan hosted a few Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches last year.

With the ever-growing demand for cricket in the country and the improvement in the security situation, many foreign cricketers are comfortable with touring Pakistan, and with PSL’s huge success last season, multiple players have expressed their desire to play top-flight cricket in the country.

PCB also confirmed their plans of hosting New Zealand and Australia by next year, and England has already confirmed their tour of the country after a gap of 16 years.

PCB should invest in the infrastructure and construct new cricket stadiums to accommodate the international teams and attract their fans. Gwadar Cricket Stadium is one of the venues that can fulfill this criterion. However, we wanted to explore more such beautiful venues that could be converted into fully functional international stadiums.

Let’s have a look at some of the most beautiful locations:

Narol Cricket Stadium, Muzaffarabad

Narol Cricket Stadium in Muzaffarabad with its surrounding mountains presents a scenic landscape. The stadium is not up to international standards, but it has hosted plenty of club cricket matches. The stadium will need to be renovated, and facilities will need to be upgraded to transform it into an international level stadium.

Abbottabad Cricket Stadium

Abbottabad Cricket Stadium has held plenty of first-class matches over the years and was one of the venues for the 2019/2020 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. The lush green ground is perfect for hosting an international level match, although the stands will have to be constructed to accommodate fans. However, the backdrop is beautiful enough to make one forget about that.

Bagh Cricket Stadium, Kashmir

The images of Bagh Cricket Stadium in Kashmir has been doing the rounds on social media recently. The ground’s location and mesmerizing surroundings will leave the players and the fans in awe. However, the facilities will need to be upgraded, and stands will have to be built to bring the stadium to an international level.

Quaid-e-Azam Cricket Stadium, Mirpur

This is the largest stadium of the lot. The stands have already been built, and the grass on the field is lush green. This ground has hosted first-class matches previously and could be one of the venues that can be used in the near future. This is currently the largest stadium in Kashmir with a capacity of 16,000 spectators.

Chitral Cricket Stadium

Well, technically, this one is not a stadium, but the picturesque ground was too stunning not to be shared. The backdrop of this ground is mesmerizing and has the perfect atmosphere to host an international cricket match. However, the location will require a lot of investment as it is technically not a functional cricket ground, but we sure hope that PCB has this venue in their plans.

  • Amazing & Beautiful grounds with out any doubt.
The existing grounds and stadiums in Pakistan are for cricket, hockey and football etc. There is no sports activity there. First, the ground has to be populated with sports and players. Due to law and order in the country, other countries players refuse to come to Pakistan. It is the responsibility of the Govt to maintain law and order. No country is ready to play in Pakistan. First fix this issue. Then fight the beautiful grounds. No matter how beautiful the ground is, If there are political meetings instead of sports. So there is no point in such a ground.
