The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shared the proposed schedule for the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 with franchises.
The PSL 2021 was postponed on March 4, after multiple COVID-19 cases emerged among players and support staff of different franchises. The PCB has already announced to host the remaining 20 matches in Karachi early in June this year.
As per sources, the board has shared a couple of schedules, one that suggests a single match every day, and the other with solitary matches on weekdays and double-headers on weekends. The tentative date for the final is likely to be June 20. It is subjected to change as discussions between the PCB and franchises are still in progress.

Due to the scorching heat of June, the doubleheaders are likely to start at 4 and 9 pm, respectively. However, some franchises have expressed reservations on the timings of double-headers as the last matches are would end so late and teams would reach hotels after midnight. Also, the matches needed to be held at prime timings for improved television ratings.
One of the franchises has also complained about playing too many day matches in the revised schedule.
Meanwhile, a suggestion about holding the matches towards the end of May despite a clash with the Indian Premier League (IPL) was also floated.

As per sources, the board wants to conclude the event by June 20 to give players some time to spend with families ahead of the England tour that starts July 8. The national side is scheduled to leave for England in the last week of June.
Meanwhile, the company responsible for the tournament’s bio-security bubble will decide about the quarantine period of foreign players. It will likely be between seven to ten days.
Moreover, the board had already started the search for the hotel, where teams and everyone else involved with the league will stay.
