Govt Given 72 Hours to Meet Karachi Traders’ Demands

A 72-hour deadline has been given by the trader associations in Karachi to the provincial government to meet their nine demands or else they will close markets and stage protests.

According to the details, one of the main demands of the traders is that the business hours must be extended to 8 pm from 6 pm. They have also demanded that there should be just one day closure of businesses during the week and the power of magistrates to seal shops and impose fines on traders must be withdrawn.

In a joint presser held with MQM-P, the traders said instead of ending their plight and extending ease to businesses like given around the world, the government is closing them down.

The traders have sought the opening of wedding halls, bachat bazaars, hotels, and beauty parlors and asked the government to provide them relief in the upcoming budget.

Similarly, they have asked the government to establish a cell where they can lodge complaints against the police’s rude behavior.
