Legendary left-arm fast bowler, Wasim Akram, is the only other Pakistani left-arm bowler to pick up a ten-wicket haul in Test cricket. Wasim Akram had a total of 5 ten-wicket hauls in his Test career, with his last one also against the West Indies in 2000.

Shaheen has been in sublime form recently and was awarded the player of the series as he picked up 18 wickets in the two-match series, including one five-wicket haul in an innings and three four-wicket hauls. He also achieved his career-best figures in the second Test as he picked up six wickets for 51 runs in the first innings.

The fiery pacer has also equaled Wasim Akram’s wicket tally at the age of 21 and has taken them at a better average than the legendary fast bowler.

Shaheen’s match figures were also the best match figures for a Pakistani fast bowler since Mohammad Asif picked up 11 wickets for 76 runs against Sri Lanka in 2006. Only three other Pakistani fast bowlers, including Shaheen, have picked up a ten-wicket haul since then. The other two are Mohammad Abbas and Hasan Ali.
