Here’s a Comparison of Pakistan’s Kits in Every T20 World Cup [Pictures]

The first round of the 2021 T20 World Cup is off to a flyer as eight teams are fighting tooth and nail to qualify for the Super 12s stage of the mega event. While the eight teams are battling it out to make it to the next round, the top-ranked teams are preparing for their campaign to commence. Similarly, the fans are eagerly waiting to see their teams take the field.

Pakistan cricket team fans are also looking forward to their first match of the tournament in a high-octane clash against India on 24 October. The fans will also be looking to see their favorite players in Pakistan’s fresh new kits. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed the 2021 T20 World Cup kit in a blockbuster video on their official account on various social media platforms which has got the fans excited even further.

Keeping in view the excitement of the fans, let’s have a look at Pakistan’s kits in every T20 World Cup so far.

2007 T20 World Cup

Pakistan surprised the world in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup, held in 2007 in South Africa. The young side managed to reach the final under the leadership of Shoaib Malik but unfortunately lost to arch-rivals India in the final of the tournament in a nail-biting encounter.

2009 T20 World Cup

Two years later, Pakistan went one step further and won their first and only T20 World title under the captaincy of Younis Khan. The Men in Green defeated Sri Lanka in the final of the tournament held in England.

2010 T20 World Cup

The Men in Green continued their impressive performances in World T20 as they made it to the semi-final of the 2010 edition of the mega event, held in West Indies. Unfortunately for Pakistan, Australia’s Mike Hussey smashed Saeed Ajmal in the infamous penultimate over to knock them out of the tournament.

2012 T20 World Cup

Pakistan made it to yet another semi-final in the 2012 edition of the tournament, this time under the leadership of Mohammad Hafeez. Pakistan crashed out of the tournament against the hosts Sri Lanka, who went on to lose the final to West Indies.

2014 T20 World Cup

Pakistan were knocked out of the tournament in the group stages of the T20 World Cup for the first time in their history. Pakistan won two out of their four matches as they failed to qualify for the next stage in the competition held in Bangladesh.

2016 T20 World Cup

Their poor run in the tournament continued in the 2016 edition as they went out of the tournament in the group stages once again. They only registered one win in the competition held in India. West Indies went on to lift the T20 World Cup courtesy of a brilliant match-winning innings by Carlos Brathwaite.

2021 T20 World Cup

The Men in Green will be determined to put in a much better performance in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Pakistan, led by star batter, Babar Azam, are placed in Group B along with India, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and two qualifying teams. The top two teams from each of the two groups will qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament.
