The highly-anticipated clash between arch-rivals Pakistan and India in the 2022 T20 World Cup is set to be played in front of a jam-packed crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium (MCG).
According to details, the additional standing room tickets have been sold out within a few minutes after going on sale. The International Cricket Council (ICC) had allocated an additional 4,000 tickets for the special standing room after the initial general tickets were sold out within minutes.
The clash between the two rivals is expected to break the attendance record at the historical MCG with more than 90,000 spectators expected to be in attendance for the high-octane encounter.
The T20 World Cup clash between the two sides is set to be played on 23 October at the MCG. This will be the third match between the two teams this year, having previously met twice in the 2022 Asia Cup.
India had won the first match in the Asia Cup while Pakistan inflicted a heavy defeat on India in the Super 4s stage which resulted in the latter getting knocked out of the tournament.
Pakistan and India also faced each other in the previous edition of the T20 World Cup. Pakistan had emerged victorious on that occasion as they beat their arch-rivals by 10 wickets.
