At a lunch hosted by the Pakistan High Commission in London to honor the Quetta Association’s ex-servicemen, British army officers forthrightly acknowledged that Pakistan’s army is one of the best in the world.
The Quetta Association is an association of British and Pakistani Army veterans who operated in Quetta, and the event was organized to honor their service and sacrifice while also strengthening ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom (UK).
During the ceremony, High Commissioner, Moazzam Ahmad Khan, stressed the significance of Pakistan-UK relations and the role of defense diplomacy in enhancing these relationships.
He thanked the Quetta Association members and British officers for their distinguished service and contributions to Pakistan-UK ties and praised them for maintaining peace and stability in their own countries.
Major General Seumas Kerr CBE, Chairman of the Quetta Association, expressed gratitude towards the Pakistan High Commission for its hospitality and discussed the Quetta Association’s long-standing affinity with Pakistan. He expressed his desire for ongoing cooperation and partnership between the two nations.
Actually complete statement is: “One of the best in the world available on rent” or “One of the best in the world to protect our (western) interests”.

It cannot be denied that the Quetta Association event is a waste of resources, especially given Pakistan’s current economic situation. Organizing such events, which are solely intended to honour the service of a select group of individuals, does nothing to address the urgent needs of the country’s struggling economy. Moreover, spending money on events that do not provide any tangible benefits only serves to divert resources away from more pressing issues. In short, the Quetta Association event is a pointless and wasteful use of resources that could be better allocated elsewhere.

For this criticizing Pak army in the comments I give you three scenarios from recent times.
1:Russia Ukraine conflict:Did education or modernization save Ukraine against brutal onslaught by the Russians, war crimes were commited,did high hdi or high education or high class politicians save Ukraine and do you expect your politicians to come and save you in a similar situation against India.
2. Afghanistan debacle: Despite best resources Afghanistan army fell against the Taliban,what became the fastest fall of govt in recent years,who is holding them (Taliban’s back) outside Pak borders,is it Imran khan or shehbaz sharif, care to enlighten.Aghanistan’s democratical elected karzai was on the first flight outside the country and Is stationed comfortably outside the country with family and money.
3. Without strong military you can see what happens every year in Israel-palestine conflict,you think education or bringing democracy in Palestine going to save it against Israel.
Based on above I can tell you a lot of countries spend a lot of money to keep strong millitary in current times.Pakistan needs strong millitary considering it’s neighbours both east and west.For those criticizing Pak army should know that there is nothing to save the country should Pak army ever fall.belief in democracy is stupid,never worked and instead of blaming incompetency of your politicians you blame the only stabilizing institution of the country.
