International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executive Geoff Allardice has confirmed that there are no plans to relocate the 2025 Champions Trophy from Pakistan.
In a statement, Allardice assured that no team has expressed hesitation about participating in the tournament. All teams remain committed to participating in the Champions Trophy next year.
The ICC Chief Executive emphasized that the council regularly visits member nations, including Pakistan, to ensure the successful organization of its events.
A five to six-member ICC delegation is scheduled to visit Pakistan next week to review preparations for the Champions Trophy.
The delegation will inspect the proposed venues and discuss key issues such as practice matches and ticketing with officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The team will include heads and representatives from various departments.
The 2025 Champions Trophy, scheduled to take place in Pakistan, will feature eight teams, including India, Australia, New Zealand, England, South Africa, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and the host nation, Pakistan.
Pakistan, the defending champion of the Champions Trophy, secured the title in 2017 after defeating India in the final. They are set to host the Champions Trophy in February-March next year.
The tournament will be held in three cities of Pakistan which includes Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi whereas all the matches of India will be hosted in Lahore.
It is still uncertain whether India will send their team to Pakistan or not, considering there has been no confirmation from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
