DG Khan Women’s Team Wins Final of Higher Education Commission Tournament

The DG Khan Women’s cricket team clinched victory in the prestigious women’s cricket tournament organized by the Department of Higher Education Commission (HEC), showcasing their exceptional talent and teamwork.

The tournament, held at the renowned Kinnaird College, brought together some of the finest female cricketers from across the region, culminating in an exciting final match.

In the decisive final of the HEC, Faisalabad won the toss, putting DG Khan on the field to bowl first as they elected to bat first. They managed to post a modest total of 65 runs for the loss of four wickets. Zakra was the top scorer for Faisalabad, contributing 19 runs, while Maimuna added 13 runs to the scoreboard. Despite their efforts, the team struggled to build momentum against a disciplined DG Khan bowling attack.

DG Khan, in response, chased down the target with relative ease, scoring 67 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Aliza emerged as the star of the match, playing a crucial innings of 35 runs that anchored her team’s chase. Sania also played a vital supporting role, adding 19 runs to secure the victory for DG Khan.

The tournament, organized by the Department of HEC, aimed to promote women’s cricket and provide a platform for emerging talent to showcase their skills. The event saw participation from various teams.
