Head Coach Gary Kirsten to Arrive in Faisalabad Today

Pakistan’s white-ball head coach, Gary Kirsten is set to return to the country on Friday to monitor the talented domestic players in the Champions One-Day Cup.

His arrival coincides with the ongoing Champions One-Day Cup in Faisalabad, where several domestic cricketers are showcasing their skills.

The return of Gary Kirsten is expected to intensify Pakistan’s preparations for the upcoming international fixtures, as the team gears up for a challenging white-ball series against Australia in November.

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated visit by an International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation has been delayed.

The group was initially expected to arrive in Pakistan on Thursday to inspect venues for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, set to be hosted by Pakistan. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, their visit has been pushed back.

A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official confirmed the postponement, stating that the ICC delegation is now expected to arrive later in the month.

“We have been informed of the delay, and the team is now likely to visit during the second half of September,” the official said.

The ICC’s inspection is critical to determining the final venue selections for the prestigious tournament. Pakistan, as the host nation, is keen to ensure that all preparations are on track to deliver a successful event next year.
