PCB Allocates Rs7.7 Billion for Gaddafi Stadium Revamp

Pakistan’s renovation of the Gaddafi Stadium continues in the quest to host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, as the nation prepares for its first major ICC event in years.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has outlined an ambitious plan, allocating a substantial 12.8 billion rupees to upgrade key stadiums in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi to international standards.

A recent PCB Board of Governors meeting in Faisalabad highlighted the progress and expenditures for these developments.

The iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will see the largest investment, with 7.7 billion rupees earmarked for its renovation.

This overhaul includes significant, upgrades such as a new steel-structured pavilion, enhanced seating, modernized LED digital screens, and state-of-the-art floodlights.

Karachi’s National Bank Stadium is also undergoing a major transformation, with 3.5 billion rupees allocated for improvements.

The focus will be on the steel pavilion, upgraded hospitality boxes, and new LED lighting systems, ensuring that the venue meets world-class standards.

Rawalpindi’s Pindi Stadium is set to receive 1.5 billion rupees for upgrades, focusing on improving seating, replacing floodlights, and modernizing key facilities.

These investments highlight Pakistan’s commitment to delivering a successful tournament, enhancing its global cricketing reputation, and ensuring a top-tier experience for players and spectators.

With these extensive preparations, Pakistan is poised to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
