Dates for National Softball Championship Announced

The Softball Federation of Pakistan has finalized the dates for the seventh National Men’s Softball Championship.

The tournament is set to be held at the Karachi Port Trust from October 23 to 25 under the aegis of the Sindh Softball Association.

The announcement of the schedule followed a meeting of the Softball Federation of Pakistan’s executive committee, led by President Asif Azeem, with participation from senior vice president Dr. Farhan Essa, chairperson Yasmin Haider, and secretary general Naseem Khan.

In addition to the men’s championship, the committee also announced that the 15th National Women’s Softball Championship is also being planned to take place at the same venue later this year.

Furthermore, Dr. Essa Laboratories and Combaxx Sports have been approved as new departments with playing rights.

On the suggestion of Farhan Essa, the panel also approved the organization of inter-school championships regularly every year to promote the game from the grassroots level in search of future stars.

Next year is shaping up to be another busy for the sport of Softball in Pakistan with a schedule featuring several key events, including the inaugural Inter-Departmental Softball League in Lahore, the junior men’s inter-provincial championship hosted by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Softball Association, and a bilateral series between the men’s teams of Sindh and Balochistan in Quetta.
