Pakistan Announces Squad for Davis Cup Playoff

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has announced a five-member squad for the upcoming Davis Cup World Group-I playoff against Kazakhstan, scheduled for February 1-2 in Nur-Sultan. The announcement comes after selection trials were held at the PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad from January 11-14.

Players Selected for the Tie

The squad includes Huzaifa Abdul Rehman, Muzammil Murtaza, and promising tennis prodigy Ahmad Nael, who earned their spots through the rigorous trial process. Veteran players Aqeel Khan and Mohammad Shoaib were given exemptions based on their experience and consistent performances at national and international levels.

According to the PTF, the selection process relied heavily on the players’ current national rankings and recent performance history.

Support Staff

The team will be led by captain Mohammad Haseeb Aslam, with Mohammad Shahid accompanying the players as the team physio.
