Expected Eid-ul-Azha Date in Pakistan Predicted

Pakistan’s astronomical experts have projected that Eidul Adha is likely to be observed on Saturday, June 7, 2025, based on preliminary moon-sighting estimates. However, the final confirmation will come from the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which will officially announce the date after reviewing the moon’s visibility within Pakistan.

In contrast, the Emirates Astronomy Society has predicted that Eidul Adha will fall on Friday, June 6, 2025, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Astronomers in the UAE expect the Zil Hajj moon to be visible on the evening of May 27, indicating that the first day of Zil Hajj would begin on May 28.

According to forecasts, the moon will rise at 7:02 AM and remain visible for approximately 38 minutes after sunset, making the likelihood of a clear sighting quite high.

Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society, emphasized that the official date will still depend on actual moon sightings conducted locally.

The UAE’s holiday calendar has already designated the Eidul Adha break from the 9th to the 12th of Zil Hajj (1445 AH), providing a four-day public holiday period.

Eidul Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the two major Islamic holidays celebrated globally. It commemorates the Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham’s) unwavering devotion and willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command.

In remembrance of this act of faith, Muslims perform the ritual of animal sacrifice over the three days of Eid. The meat is distributed among family, friends, and those in need, reinforcing the values of charity, gratitude, and community spirit that are central to the occasion.
