Kiwi superstar Kane Williamson is set to join the Karachi Kings squad for the ongoing Pakistan Super League PSL X next week. According to sources within the Kings’ management, Williamson is expected to arrive in Pakistan on April 23 or 24.
Kane Williamson has already missed the team’s opening match and will also be unavailable for the next four games due to his commentary commitments in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In Williamson’s absence, Karachi Kings have moved quickly to bolster their squad, announcing the signing of Pakistan U19 captain Saad Baig as a partial replacement. Baig joined the team during their opening fixture against Multan Sultans.
Led by newly appointed captain David Warner, Karachi Kings made a statement in their first match of the tournament, securing a thrilling victory over Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium. Chasing a daunting 235-run target, the Kings reached the mark with four wickets in hand, thanks to a spectacular partnership between James Vince and Khushdil Shah.
Karachi Kings will now face Lahore Qalandars in their second match on Tuesday at the National Bank Cricket Stadium.
