Islamabad United has etched its name deeper into Pakistan Super League (PSL) history, securing a record ninth consecutive victory with a six-wicket triumph over Karachi Kings on April 20 at the National Bank Stadium.
This streak, spanning five wins from PSL 9 in 2024 and four in the ongoing PSL 10 in 2025, surpasses all previous records, cementing United’s dominance in Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament.
With a franchise win percentage of 57.69%, with Multan Sultans trailing at a 56.96% win rate, the highest in PSL history, and three championship titles (2016, 2018, 2024), Islamabad United stands as the most successful team in the league’s decade-long run. No other team has claimed more than two titles, with Lahore Qalandars being the only other multiple-time champions.
In their latest victory, United chased 129 in 17.1 overs, led by captain Shadab Khan’s composed 47 off 40 balls. Sahibzada Farhan’s brisk 30 off 18 and Azam Khan’s steady 31 ensured a smooth finish. Earlier, United’s bowlers, including Shadab (2-17) and Naseem Shah (2-29), restricted Karachi to 128/7, with Tim Seifert’s 30 the top score.
Shadab’s leadership and United’s balanced squad, featuring stars like Colin Munro and Imad Wasim, have fueled this historic run. The three-time PSL champions will look to continue their win streak to 10 as they take on the Multan Sultans in their backyard on April 23.
