PSL 2025 Points Table After Sultans Finally Get Their First Win

A change of scenery was all that was needed for Multan Sultans to finally register their first points in the PSL 2025 points table after a commanding 33-run win over Lahore Qalandars in Multan.

Having very little room for error after three consecutive losses, Muhammad Rizwan’s men answered the call on Tuesday night in what turned out to be a high-scoring contest packed with power-hitting and drama.

Set a daunting target of 229, the Qalandars crumbled under pressure despite a valiant 50* from Sikandar Raza and a brisk 43 from Sam Billings. They closed on 195/9, well short of the target, as the Sultans’ bowlers held their nerve in the middle overs to seal a crucial victory.

Multan’s top order was in rampaging form, headlined by a blistering 87 off 44 balls from opener Yasir Khan, who launched six sixes and tore through Lahore’s bowling attack with precise placement and powerful strokes. Mohammad Rizwan contributed 32 off 17, and a late cameo by Iftikhar Ahmed (40* off 18) helped the Sultans reach a towering 228/5.

For Lahore, the bowling unraveled yet again. Haris Rauf went wicketless and conceded 54 runs in his three overs, while Zaman Khan was hammered for 22 in his solitary over. Only Asif Afridi (1/26) offered any real control with the ball.

In response, Lahore made a flying start with Fakhar Zaman smashing 32 off 14, but once Ubaid Shah and Michael Bracewell dented the top order with timely strikes, the chase lost steam. Billings and Raza threatened to swing momentum back briefly, but the climbing required rate and a disciplined Sultans bowling attack ensured the Qalandars never truly caught up.

Ubaid Shah impressed with figures of 3 for 37, while Usama Mir’s 2 for 26 applied the brakes at a crucial juncture.
