Construction on the Nawaz Sharif Flyover along Adiala Road is nearing its final stages and is expected to be completed by June 3, with plans to open it to traffic ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.

The update came during a site visit by Rawalpindi Commissioner Aamir Khattak, who reviewed the ongoing work alongside Additional Deputy Commissioner General Hassaan Tariq and officials from the Communication and Works Department.

According to a briefing given during the visit, 98% of the construction has been completed. The project is on track for timely completion, followed by a formal inauguration.

Commissioner Khattak stressed the importance of finishing the project within the scheduled timeline to ease traffic congestion in the area. He emphasized that public convenience, transparency, quality, and safety must remain top priorities throughout the remaining work.

He also noted that the flyover will play a key role in improving traffic flow in Rawalpindi and highlighted the government’s commitment to expediting development projects across Punjab. Resources, he said, are being fully utilized to serve the public effectively.

During the visit, Khattak spoke with workers and the contractor, urging them to maintain safety standards and ensure worker welfare to keep progress steady.

The commissioner added that the district administration is closely monitoring all public development projects and warned that any delays or negligence would not be tolerated.
