NADRA has expanded digital vehicle services through its Pak ID mobile application, allowing buyers and sellers to complete biometric verification from their smartphones.
The facility is currently confirmed for vehicles registered in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Islamabad. However, the available options and remaining transfer requirements may differ depending on the vehicle’s place of registration.
Punjab Excise officially lists biometric verification for vehicle registration and transfer through the Pak Identity app. NADRA has also confirmed that buyers and sellers of Punjab-registered vehicles can verify themselves from home before completing the remaining transfer process.
For Sindh-registered vehicles, Pak ID provides both a digital vehicle card and biometric verification for buying and selling transactions.
NADRA added the same facilities for Balochistan-registered vehicles in Pak ID version 5.6.8, developed in collaboration with the Balochistan government.
Islamabad Excise also provides an official procedure for obtaining vehicle biometrics through the Pak ID app, while NADRA has confirmed that digital registration cards for Islamabad vehicles are available through the platform.
The official notices reviewed do not currently confirm the same Pak ID vehicle-transfer service for vehicles registered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir or Gilgit-Baltistan.

The registered vehicle should appear in the seller’s Pak ID account.
Open the Vehicle Section
Sign in to the Pak ID app and open the digital services or digital cards section.
Select Vehicle to view the vehicles registered against your identity. The exact name and location of the option may differ slightly depending on the app version.
Select the Vehicle
Choose the vehicle being sold and select the available transfer or biometric-verification option.
Check the registration number, owner’s name and vehicle details before continuing.
Complete Facial Verification
Select the facial-verification option and allow the app to use the phone’s camera.
Stand in a properly lit location with a plain background. Position your face inside the circle shown on the screen and keep the phone steady until the photograph is captured.
The app may allow you to crop, rotate or adjust the image before submission.
Scan Your Fingerprints
Open the fingerprint-verification section and scan the fingers requested on the screen.
Follow the instructions carefully and keep the finger properly positioned until the scan is accepted.
Enter the Buyer’s CNIC
Enter the purchaser’s CNIC number in the application details.
The seller should verify every digit before submitting the request because incorrect information may prevent the buyer from continuing the process.
Submit the Application
Review the details and submit the application.
The app will generate application credentials, which may include a Tracking ID and PIN ID. The seller must securely share these details with the actual buyer.
The buyer must sign in to the Pak ID app and open the vehicle-transfer or biometric-verification service.
Enter the Tracking ID and PIN received from the seller. The app will display the relevant vehicle and transfer information.
After confirming the information, the buyer must complete facial and fingerprint verification by following the on-screen instructions.
The buyer should not proceed when the seller’s name, registration number or vehicle details are incorrect.

The amount displayed in the app may vary according to the vehicle category, engine capacity and provincial transfer charges.
Where the facility is available, users can sign in to Pak ID, open the digital cards section and select Vehicle.
Registration cards linked to the user’s CNIC will appear in the app. Digital vehicle cards are officially confirmed for Sindh, Balochistan and Islamabad-registered vehicles.
Punjab vehicle owners should check the latest app version to see which digital card options are available for their registration record.
Pak ID mainly completes the biometric-verification stage for the seller and buyer.
Users may still have to complete additional formalities with the relevant Excise and Taxation Department, such as submitting transfer forms, registration documents, CNIC copies, tax records or other required documents.
For example, Punjab’s official transfer requirements include the transfer order, copies of the buyer’s and seller’s CNICs, the original registration certificate and updated token-tax records.
Islamabad Excise also separately lists ownership-transfer documents and departmental processing requirements.
