The Punjab government has decided to offer universal health coverage through Sehat Insaf cards to all citizens of the province.
Taking to Twitter, CM Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar said, “each family in Punjab will be accorded with health insurance worth Rs. 720,000 under the universal health coverage program.”

He added that the universal health coverage program would come into effect in phases, with the first phase set to begin in two districts of the province from January 2021.
The universal health coverage program will be implemented in all districts of the province before the end of 2021.

The CM said that this initiative is in line with Prime Minister’s vision, adding that access to healthcare facilities is the right of every citizen and the responsibility of the state.
Earlier in October, PM Imran Khan, during a visit to Lahore, had announced to offer universal health coverage to everyone in Punjab on the same lines as KP.
