We are only a few days into 2021 and leaks have revealed a slew of Motorola phones set to launch within a few months including the Moto G Stylus 2021, a flagship codenamed Nio, two mid-range phones codenamed Capri and Capri Plus, an SD400 series powered 5G compatible mid-range phone, Moto G Power and the Moto G Play.
Earlier today, basic specifications and images of the Moto G Power (2021) and Moto G Play (2021) were leaked. The Moto G Power (2021) is basically a toned-down variant or a lite version of Moto G9 Power launched in November 2020. The smartphone will be powered by the same Snapdragon 662 chipset but will feature 3 GB or 4 GB RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB onboard storage.
Moreover, the camera system will also be a step-down. Instead of a 64 MP camera system, the smartphone will sport a 48 MP camera setup on the back. The selfie camera will also be brought down to 8 MP from 16 MP.
In terms of battery, the smartphone will pack a 4850 mAh battery which is surprisingly small for a phone with a ‘Power’ badge. On contrary, the G9 power has a 6000 mAh battery.
As for the Moto G Play (2021), the handset is going to be a toned-down version of the Moto E7 Play. It is expected to come with the same Snapdragon 460 chipset that will be topped with a mere 3 GB RAM and 32 GB onboard storage. The 48 MP main camera will be replaced by a 13 MP sensor while for selfies it gets a 5 MP sensor, down from 8 MP. The battery is the same, i.e., 5000 mAh.
Both smartphones are in the final stages of production and will be launched soon.
