While actors used to shy away playing the family card, more and more new actors are flaunting their ties to bigwigs in the biz. Now it turns out Zoya Nasir comes from a family of artists too.
While many only discovered the actress with Bushra Ansari’s ‘Zebasih’, that was not her debut.
Her debut drama was ARY’s Hania, where she played the titular role of a domestic abuse victim suffering at the hands of her husband. She then moved on to play the antagonist in Geo TV’s Deewangi.

She then went on to garner a lot of attention as ‘Natasha’ in Zebasih. At the time Zoya had talked about being selective about the roles she played on-screen.
“Till now, I have been cautious with my choices of roles, and for me, Zebaish ticked all the boxes. It has a great script and I am really excited to work with the amazing cast including Zara Noor Abbas, Asma Abbas, and Bushra Ansari. Being directed by Iqbal Hussain has been nothing but amazing, and I can’t wait for everyone to watch it!”, she said
The budding young actress started her career with a challenging role and has been making waves ever since her debut performance. She will now be starring as one of the leads in this drama scripted by the legendary Bushra Ansari and directed by Iqbal Hussain. The ensemble cast also includes Bushra Ansari, Asma Abbas, Zara Noor Abbas, and Asad Siddiqui.
Yet her debut in the entertainment industry was as a beautician since her mother is a stylist and owner of Sasha Salons. Amna Ulfat is also a politician and served as a member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) in Punjab back in 2008.
Zoya worked as a junior partner at Sabs and owns her salons in Miami, New York, and Lahore.
In one of her very early interviews with The News, the actress shared that she was the daughter of the famed scriptwriter, Nasir Adeeb. He is best known for penning the Punjabi classic Maula Jatt. He also penned the script for the upcoming reboot of ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’.
“My father, Nasir Adeeb, makes movies so I basically grew up on sets, …. My mom, on the other hand, owns salons in about three continents so I had that element in me as well,” she said.
Meanwhile, Zoya’s brother Kamran Nasir is the Chief Executive (CEO) of JS Global Capital Ltd.

Renowned writer Nasir Adib penned some 412 films in his time. He wrote his first film, ‘Wahshi Jutt’ at the age of 30. He was awarded the Medal of Excellence in 2019.
It is worth mentioning here that Nasir Adib had announced to offer his services free of cost for the revival of the Pakistani film industry. He made this decision to bring filmmakers towards production.
Zoya Nasir is engaged to German travel vlogger Christian Betzmann in February 2021. They met during his travel series Whitchhiking across Pakistan.
