Sellup Aims to Shake Up the e-Commerce Industry with the ‘Right’ Feature Set

There are quite a few buying and selling platforms out there but reliability and trustworthiness are always an issue. You can buy or you can sell, but you have to do it at your own risk without any knowledge about your counterpart. Similarly, shopkeepers and wholesalers don’t have a proper platform and there’s no place to buy both new and used items.

Or at least there wasn’t one until now. Sellup is a new platform which aims to deal with all these issues that other platforms neglect. Whether its shops, car importers, property dealers, home-based sellers, service providers or anyone looking to sell something, Sellup aims to be a single platform for all buyers and sellers.

About Sellup

Coming in the form of a web portal and a dedicated user-friendly application for Android and iOS users, sellers can list and promote their products to specifically targeted audiences – all of this free of cost. On the other hand, buyers get a dedicated space listing products they want.

Even international brands are welcome to use the platform as a retail outlet. Local shops can benefit the most by registering with Sellup, reaching a wider audience online.

The developers have smartly split the platform into Shopping and Classified sections.

For Sellers

Sellers can list their products free of cost. There is no limitation on whether the platform can be used for new or old products.

To further strengthen the sale section both individual users and business retailers can register themselves with Sellup. Retailers can list all their products in a “shop”, not so different from an online store.

Listings are published based on GPS locations. This is done for the ease of buyers when filtering ads based on distance. International listings are also possible if sellers want to engage international buyers as well.

To top it off, sellers can add their products to the deals category if they think their offering is attractive enough.

To differentiate itself from the rest of the pack, highly rated shops and users with positive reviews are automatically promoted. The opposite is true if the review ratings are low. This feature ensures trustworthiness as buyers get to know beforehand how reliable a seller is. The same goes for sellers when they are dealing with the buyers.

For Buyers

Buyers can view all listed products in the Shopping section. Items can be filtered based on their condition – new or used – and location based filtration is also possible to get the nearest listing first, a feature that will be appreciated by those who plan on buying large items like furniture. Of course, the standard filter options are also available.

The dedicated Deals category allows buyers to scout out the best offers for the items they are searching for.

As far as buyers are concerned, nothing could be more reassuring then to have reviews on sellers before trusting them with their hard earned cash. Reliable sellers means a better shopping experience. Unlike others, you don’t necessarily have to visit to shop, the seller ships items to you.

The payment gateway, accessible via the Shopping section, has to be used to buy stuff. Shipping is the seller’s responsibility. Sellup is also going to offer an escrow service for whoever uses their payment gateway in which which the payment is held until the buyer confirms the order is to their satisfaction.

Launch Date

The platform is not online yet. The Android app will be released later this year in March. The Android version will soon be followed by the iOS app and the website In May.
