After many controversies and delays, Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) became operational for the general public on 13th August 2020. However, the service is not yet fully operational, since the feeder routes are yet to be opened. However, recent media reports suggest that the feeder routes shall be made operational in two weeks.
Chief Executive Officer TransPeshawar, Fayyaz Ahmad Khan informed the media that Prime Minister Imran Khan has been given the status update regarding the Hayatabad feeder route, which is to be made operational within two weeks. Khan further stated that 90 buses are operational on the main route and the service would be operating at full capacity once the feeder routes are up and running.
CEO TransPeshawar also stated that the exact number of passengers cannot be determined, since a large percentage of people using the service are joyriders. On that note, one of the officials of TransPeshawar stated that they shall be able to determine the actual number of commuters in a couple of weeks once the joyrides are over.
Fayyaz Khan added that the control centers also keep their eye on the bus terminals so that if a terminal gets too crowded, an additional bus is sent to that terminal right away. In light of the ongoing pandemic, the passengers that don’t wear facemasks are not allowed onboard.
He stated that the SOPs pertaining to the Coronavirus mitigation and avoidance have been made mandatory for both the staff and the passengers. People must use facemasks and stay at least 6 feet apart at the terminals. The local authorities are also being welcomed to impose the SOPs if necessary, and the individuals who neglect to follow the SOPs are to be fined.

A lesson for all patwaris of Pakistan that when you support ganjas of Lahore then you get nothing, but Khan is the real game changer.

and by the way there’s already a Rs.2 billion subsidy set aside in KPK’s budget for this “Self Sustaining” Metro by mr game Changer
The behavior of people towards this project and its resources is reprehensible. They damage buses’ entrance doors, they don’t have discipline and push each other on their way into the bus and out of the bus. So what can you expect from these people. Majority of them are boarding the buses for fun and those who deserve to ride remain standing and majority of them are students and teachers etc. The system of entrance and going out of the bus is not fine. The door of entrance opens along with the door for the people who want to board the bus. There is no regulatory authority and overcrowding the bus makes it nothing different from “local transport”
The operating staff need to undergo training to handle traffic and commuters. They must be equipoed with a sense of responsibility and limitation. most of the commuters are not used to such modern transport system with responsibility they need to be groomed for this delicate and useful mode of transport.
I travel this Bus two days before. It seem like 10 years old. All stations are so dirty.No people to clean station and buses.may be after 2 months it will totaly finish
Doesn’t want to hurt anyone but the fact is we pathan will destroy this facility maybe just in 2 or 3 months if Government will not take serious measurements against the people who’s are using BRT. I feel pain to say but being as a nation even we are somehow educated but still we are just like came from jungle. We blame Government what they are giving but the question is what are we giving to our country? Are we civilized are we well educated are we well Mannered?
We are facing very difficulty intravling in brt because buses are over crowded. Administratiin should implement SOP stricly in buses.
PTI Govt shows mismanagement in every aspect , exept Nawaz Sharif and zardari matters.
BRT is an example of their biggest example , entrance of every terminal is dirty, no face masks SOPs, Ladies segment also full of gents, and what not and what not. Too much bura haal
