Pakistan Shaheens Humiliated by New Zealand’s Domestic Teams

Pak Shaheens, formerly known as ‘Pakistan A’, succumbed to another embarrassing defeat at the hands of a New Zealand domestic side. Pakistan Shaheens were bowled out for only 91 runs in a T20 game against Wellington, with only three players crossing the double-figure mark.

Danish Aziz top scored with 28 runs and Usman Qadir was the next best scorer with 23 runs. The rest of the batsmen failed to deliver as Shaheens fell to their second successive T20 defeat. Wellington easily chased down the target within 10 overs and 9 wickets remaining.

Shaheens were defeated by Northern Districts in the previous T20 match by 21 runs. Northern Districts posted a target of 204. In reply, Shaheens could only manage 182 runs, with half-centuries from openers Haider Ali and Zeeshan Malik.

Pakistan’s national team is also on the verge of defeat in the first Test match against New Zealand. Pakistan trail by 302 runs in the fourth innings as the fourth day’s play came to a close. With 3 wickets already lost, Pakistan face a monumental task to save the Test match on the final day.

The tour has not been a successful one for Pakistan. After losing the first two T20Is, Pakistan made a comeback in the third T20I and looked set to continue their momentum in the Test series. Similarly, Pakistan Shaheens would have been looking to build on the third T20I win as many of the national team players joined the squad.

Haider Ali, Mohammad Hasnain, Iftikhar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Hussain Talat, Usman Qadir and Khushdil Shah were all part of the T20I squad before being moved to the Pakistan Shaheens squad.

The performance will certainly raise some eyebrows in the PCB and with the new chief selector coming in, some major changes are expected in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming series against South Africa.

  • Bowlers are bit inexperienced they don’t know how to setup batsmen while as far as batting is concerned it’s good we can’t change team every now and then and even kohli and Sharma took time to settle down in team give them minimum a year and rather help them groom.there is immense talent over the last decade or more the problem has been we aren’t able to groom raw talent, always Pakistani debuts are brilliant and players show a lot of promise but we as a unit change them alot or don’t give then enough time to settle or they get injured. All other teams like india have there players playing from in there settled spots from last 10 years which help them groom and adapt according to changing trends in international cricket and bounce back when they are worked up.we cant afford more change ,recently our team got settled when mickey was coach and suddenly new management came overhauling all the team evening changing captain who recently looked to settle in, loosing to sl shouldn’t have made us do such abrupt changes look at australia they supported there not so great tim paine and now there team though isn’t very much settled position but does look settled like they are slowly catching up to the international standards
