The two-time Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions, Islamabad United, will be looking to overcome their disappointing campaign last time and overturn their fortunes in the upcoming sixth edition.
Islamabad United has arguably been the most successful team in PSL history. However, the team did not live up to its expectations in the last edition of the PSL. Playing under a new captain and new management, Islamabad finished at the bottom of the table and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in their history.

With a rejuvenated squad and the addition of an in form Hasan Ali, Islamabad is roaring to start the new campaign on a high note. They have made plenty of changes, including new management, with the former South African spinner, Johan Botha, at the helm.
Islamabad will start their campaign against Multan Sultans on 21 February at National Stadium Karachi. Islamabad and Multan faced each other twice last year, with both picking up a victory each. Islamabad beat Multan in the first match by 8 wickets, while Multan won the second rain-affected match by 9 wickets.
Islamabad’s final fixture of the group stages will be against Peshawar Zalmi as Hasan Ali will face his former team. The match will take place on 15 March at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The two teams faced off twice last year, with Peshawar winning one while the other match was abandoned due to rain.
