Shadab Teases Sarfraz for Wanting to be Like Faf du Plessis

Former captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed’s fitness issues had been in the limelight in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, after which he was sacked as captain and dropped from the team. Sarfaraz put in the hard work and regularly posted his work-out routine on social media to show his weight-loss and fitness regime, one which has been appreciated by the Pakistan cricket fans.

Current white-ball vice-captain of Pakistan, Shadab Khan, teased the former captain on his latest fitness video and said that Sarfaraz wants to have a body like the South African batsman, Faf du Plessis. He said that ever since Sarfaraz has seen the shirtless picture of Du Plessis, he has worked-out twice as hard to build a body like him.

Sarfaraz Ahmed is known as a big brother in the dressing room, and the players share a good friendship on and off the field. Sarfaraz replied to Shadab on Twitter and appreciated the banter.

Sarfaraz is part of the 17-man squad for the first Test match between Pakistan and South Africa, but it is unlikely that he will be a part of the starting line-up. Although Sarfaraz has performed well in a few matches he played in the recently concluded Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Mohammad Rizwan is in magnificent form for the national team and looks set to continue his run as the team’s first-choice wicket-keeper.

Shadab, on the other hand, has been suffering from an injury and has been ruled out of both the Test and the T20I series. He will be looking to regain full fitness ahead of the sixth edition of PSL, set to commence on 20 February.
