Kuwait to Resume Issuing Visas to Pakistanis After 10 Years

Interior Minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, on Wednesday, announced that Kuwait will soon issue visas to Pakistanis, a service which was closed since 2011.

The minister addressed a press conference in Islamabad in which he revealed that Pakistanis would soon be able to apply for visas to Kuwait and explore job opportunities over there.

Besides, the minister said that the officers who have been sitting in the ministry for 18 years shall be replaced on merit.

The minister apprised that Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced a Ramadan relief package worth almost Rs. 8 billion to benefit the people of the country and said that controlling the prices of essential commodities is the topmost priority of the government.

Moreover, the minister also informed that the government is building two new dams in Pakistan which will generate cheap electricity and open job opportunities for locals.

He also remarked about the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) postponement of the long march and observed that it was a wise decision considering the rising number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan and the upcoming Holy month of Ramzan.

“I wanted Ramzan to remain peaceful. My prayers were thankfully listened to,” he added.
