The Punjab government is considering introducing a law to regulate private schools. In this regard, the School Education Department (SED) has already forwarded a summary to the provincial cabinet.
After receiving approval, a draft bill based on the summary will be introduced in the Punjab Assembly. If approved, Punjab Private Educational Institutions Authority will be established.
The authority will be responsible for looking after the matters of private educational institutes, including regulating the fees and payment structure to facilitate the parents and students.
Speaking with a news outlet, Punjab’s Education Minister, Dr. Murad Raas, said that private schools have turned into a mafia in recent years. Regulating them is the need of the hour. Otherwise, they will get out of control.
The Minister lamented that the Private Schools Act had never been amended since 1984 by previous governments to introduce legislation in the best interests of the public.
He added that some private school owners tried to bribe him to withdraw the summary submitted to the provincial cabinet. However, he rejected all approaches and decided to proceed with the summary.

Private schools have become a powerful mafia.there is strong need to control this mafia.
Yes very good decision many pvt schools charged highly fees but not education level pvt teachers just 10 ,passed and became a mafia group Murad rass shb plz approve the standard of education in govt schools that parents will appreciate and send their child’s to govt school and quality of education is the right of every child and it’s the responsibility of govt to approve the standard of education in govt sectors

Private schools must be controlled in every aspect
Thats the height of negligence and stupidity, you should work on the standard of public schools. The space for private schools is created by the ministers and bureaucracy since long. No body compelled any body to take admissions in private institutions. Now stop playing with the sentiments of general public.

In my humble opinion mr. Muraad Raas should form a committee to first regulate the government schools. The government teachers are no less than a mafia. The education department in itself is a big mafia. Blackmailing schools and taking bribes for simple process of registration etc.
People/masses have got an option of government schools, they shouldn’t send their kids to the private schools. If someone sends their kids to the private school of their choice then they ought to pay what that school charges.
You can see a major difference in private and public schools, and the reason is the amount of money being paid for both!
So stop calling private schools a mafia and raise the standards of education in the public school.
