Islamabad Traffic Police Issues Advisory Ahead of PSL X

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has released a detailed traffic advisory from April 8, 2025, in light of the Pakistan Super League teams’ scheduled travel across the city, as PSL X matches are set to disrupt the everyday commute of locals.

According to the advisory, special security measures will be in place across key routes from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM during different intervals of the day to facilitate the smooth movement of PSL teams.

Motorists are advised to expect delays on major roads, including the Express Highway, Faizabad, Club Road, Murree Road, Faisal Avenue, 9th Avenue, and Srinagar Highway, due to temporary traffic diversions and heightened security arrangements.

Traffic flow on the Express Highway and Srinagar Highway is expected to slow down significantly during team movements. To avoid unnecessary congestion, commuters are encouraged to use service roads connected to these highways. Those heading towards Blue Area are advised to opt for the H-8 Underpass. For access to and from the Red Zone, drivers should consider using Margalla Road, Jinnah Avenue, and 3rd Road.

Residents of sectors I and H traveling towards Rawalpindi or Peshawar Road should utilize service roads from the IGP point for smoother access.

The ITP has also warned that heavy traffic will not be allowed to enter Islamabad during the team movements for PSL X matches. Additionally, Murree Road towards Serena Hotel and Faizabad — via Rawal Dam — will remain closed while the teams are on the move.

The ITP has recommended that citizens plan ahead and allow an additional 20 minutes for their travel to avoid inconvenience. Traffic police personnel will also be deployed at key locations to assist commuters and manage the flow of traffic throughout the day.
