Morris Garages (MG) Pakistan is often the center of attention and speculation because of Javed Afridi’s social media exploits in connection with the brand. He has released a teaser for the MG RX8 SUV on his Twitter account, with the caption “PAKISTAN DO YOU NEED MG RX8!?”, implying that another MG vehicle launch in Pakistan could be on its way.

MG RX8 is a midsize 7-seater family SUV that, upon arrival, will go up against Kia Sorento, Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe, and other similar vehicles in its segment.
It is offered in most markets with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 224 hp and 360 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It reportedly has proper offroad capabilities as it sits on a rugged ladder-frame chassis, has a 4×4 drivetrain, and various traction modulation modes for off-road driving.
This is not the first teaser of the RX8 that the key stakeholder of MG Pakistan has shared on his social media. He has done so a number of times before but the public is both weary and wary of his hyped-up claims that remain to be fulfilled.
However, the latest teaser seems to hold some promise as the representatives of the company recently stated at the launch ceremony of the locally assembled MG HS SUVÂ that it is planning to launch three more vehicles in the market, including a Sedan, a small economy car, and a midsize SUV.
Therefore, it is likely that the MG RX8 is on its way to Pakistan to compete in Pakistan’s midsize SUV segment.
