Sindh Traffic Police has decided to hike traffic challan rates on open-letter vehicles.
Cars and motorcycles being driven on open letters in Karachi will be subjected to a challan of up to Rs. 5,000. The previous challan rate for this infraction was only Rs. 500.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Ahmed Nawaz warned the citizens to register their cars and bikes in their own name or pay a challan of up to Rs. 5000. He stressed that there were many problems in investigations after any incident involving an unregistered car or a bike.
Nawaz advised the citizens to be vigilant and carry their registration documents at all times while driving. Those, who are driving cars and bikes on open letters, should opt for registration to avoid heavy fines.
It should be noted that many crimes involve open-letter vehicles. Such vehicles are hard to trace, leading the perpetrators to conveniently get away with various crimes.
The department requested the citizens to cooperate with the authorities and register their vehicles to avoid any inconvenience.
The traffic police should challenge the traffic signal violators, drivers changing lines without signalling, the riders travelling the wrong side of road foremost, as they are a menace on the roads.
Apparently it is a bigger crime to drive without license than using open letter, because open letter directly relates to payment of income tax on sale. It seems interest is in money not the people.
How it Wii be possible of such huge bundles of car and bikes can be transfer in few months because of your poor excise system
The process of transfer should be made completely online and easy, otherwise it is evident that this is just a money making scheme.
My car was registered in 2017 Nissan DayZ 2014…still todate original number plate not issues while many time I asked the official but they answered number plate is not ready. Any responsibly officer of Excise deptt can help me out pl.javaid from Karachi.

Sindh government should make transportation system better and facilitate from the things that are pending in province at firstand step. Thereafter, such kind of actions may be taken and embose penalties.
