Islamabad United’s PSL 2024 squad is one of the most exciting one’s in the tournament. Shadab Khan will be tasked to lead the side as they aim to win their third PSL title and once again become the most successful side in PSL history.
Islamabad have been one of the most active franchises in PSL’s trade window as they secured the services of superstars Imad Wasim and Naseem Shah even before the PSL 2024 draft. The two players added more depth to an already settled core at Islamabad United which included the likes of Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Azam Khan, Alex Hales, and Colin Munro.
United will be looking to qualify for their first final since PSL 3, when they won their second PSL title.
Islamabad had one of the best PSL 9 drafts out of all the sides, which helped them cover their bases ahead of PSL 2024. The picked up the likes of Salman Ali Agha, Qasim Akram, Tymal Mills, Tom Curran, and Jordan Cox, adding a plethora of exciting talent to their already star-studded roster.
Islamabad focused on improving their bowling unit this time around as they lost three of their starting bowlers prior to the draft with Hasan Ali, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Wasim Jr. all traded before the PSL 9 draft. They have Rumman Raees, Naseem Shah, Tymal Mills, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Imad Wasim and also picked up two younger brothers of Naseem Shah, Hunain and Ubaid Shah.
As usual, Islamabad have an excting and explosive batting unit with the likes of Munro, Hales, Azam, Shadab, Cox, Imad in the squad, adding to ISlamabad United’s players list are two more exciting all-rounders in the shape of Qasim Akram and Salman Ali Agha.
Shadab Khan will be tasked to lead the side to their first title since PSL 3, with Mike Hesson coming in as the head coach of the side. Islamabad United match will include home and away fixtures, with Rawalpindi being the home stadium of the franchise. Islamabad United fixtures will include a total of 10 matches, playing 2 games against each team in the tournament.
